Kubernetes offers several ways to achieve these goals:
- At application level: Postgresql, Cassandra (with local persistent storage)
- Dedicated Storage: Volumes with Kubernetes CSI, Flexvolumes Rook with Ceph
- Shared: (NFS) Filesysten, Objectstorage (directly publicly available, delegable with temporary keys
- Kubernetes Operator concept to support the operation of these storage systems
We show examples of different solutions and evaluate them for scalability, security, complexity and cost.
